Appointed as a Director and Chairman of the Board on 15 November 2007. Peter is owner and Chief Executive of Intercontinental Shipping and Investment Group and has also been a Board member of Opportunity International Australia for many years.
Mr. John Burn, B.Sc, EMBA
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
John has more than 20 years commercial banking experience, including 10 years across a range of senior leadership roles. John joined Many Rivers in October 2009 and was appointed to the newly created Chief Operating Officer (COO) role in January 2010. As COO, he was responsible for organisational leadership including culture, strategy, sustainability and management of all field operations and support functions as well as Chief Financial Officer responsibilities. In April 2014, John was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
Mr. Terry Winters, FAICD
Appointed as a Director in September 2010. Terry is the Chairman of Seeing Machines Limited, Converge RTK Pty Ltd, Intelledox Pty Ltd and is a Director of Redflex Holdings Limited and Australian Home Care Services Pty Ltd. He has over 20 years’ experience in operation and governance of microfinance organisations with Opportunity International Network.
Mr. Sinclair Taylor, LLB
Appointed as a Director in August 2012, Sinclair has pioneered, and continues to lead, Westpac’s strategic alliance with Many Rivers. Sinclair is the CEO of the Westpac Foundation and prior to this he was Head of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds with BT Financial Group. Sinclair is an experienced commercial banker and was the founding CEO of Westpac’s Davidson Institute.
Mr. Shane Phillips
Appointed as a Director in October 2017. Shane is the CEO of Tribal Warrior Association and also operates a mentoring program to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to achieve their full potential. Born and raised in Redfern, Shane is an outstanding community leader, respected by Indigenous and non-Indigenous people alike for his integrity, hard work and determination.
Ms. Suzi Hullick
Appointed as a Director in August 2018. Suzi is Head of Indigenous Business Banking at Westpac and also holds the position of State General Manager, Commercial Banking SA/NT. Suzi possesses extensive experience in both Commercial and Retail Banking and has held numerous leadership positions which have enabled her to work extensively with Indigenous communities throughout Australia. Suzi established the Indigenous Employment Program within Westpac, an achievement which saw her recognised as Westpac’s Woman of Influcence in 2012. Suzi continues to be a Woman in Leadership ambassador and has received a Westpac Bicentennial Service Honour award.
